Real Canadian Superstore Collective Agreement

Part-time workers of the CCR who maintain their economy receive a wage increase of $1.45 per hour during the term of the contract. These include the date on which the existing collective agreement expired on July 1, 2021. By ratifying this agreement, the Union will ask the Ontario Labour Relations Council (OLRB) to authorize the opening and early implementation of the negotiated agreement. These early discussions have enabled the Union to achieve millions of improvements beyond what is envisaged in the existing agreement. In addition, the Union has secured further improvements for members, which will expire during the three-year extension period. The new agreement expires on July 1, 2024. There are many levels to properly conclude an amended collective agreement, and the last settlement protocol was long and complicated. We appreciate your patience and understanding, while ensuring that the collective agreement is properly amended. RCSS/CCR Part-time workers hired prior to June 12, 1994 receive a total increase of $2.10 per hour during the duration of the agreement. This implies that the Union has secured, from ratification, a guarantee of personal employment for all full-time workers on the wage list. Thus, in addition to the 1491 who are protected by previous agreements, another 339 full-time workers will be protected. In total, this agreement extends employment protection to a total of 1830 full-time workers.

Since ratification, local union staff have ensured that the negotiated amendments to the Settlement Memorandum have been properly incorporated into the new collective agreement. Your local union has kept you informed and supported in this painstaking process with the “Know Your Options,” “Comparison Benefits,” “Building a Brighter Future” and “Securing Your Future” documents. The comparison memorandum was also disseminated and published online. Members of the stores concerned voted at meetings held between February 23 and February 27, 2020. The ratified agreement will bring significant improvements to the more than 11,100 members in 63 agencies working under the GFS and RCSS banners. . . . The employer will also work to make its systems and procedures possible so that part-time workers can benefit from overtime by hiring them in two companies. This will allow these workers to access more work and move faster through the progression network. . Note: This message is the archived content of UFCW Canada Local 1000A.
